yes of course it's safe. in fact most indonesian airliners including lion air has ordered hundreds of brand new planes from boeing and airbus. lion ordered 178 737-900 ER and they already received 16 of them, fresh from seattle

in terms of better services, as indonesian i must admit that indonesian airliners including flag carrier GA should learn from SQ, thats why many of us still chose SQ. but in terms of new aircraft, indonesia will be one of the countries which have the newest aircrafts in the industry

Cameras are allowed to be used, because it does not give signals. Cellphones use signals and could interfere with the plane's instruments.

I'm sorry, but what's the logic of turning off an electronic device that does not emit signals.

Remember that the rule of turning off cellphones is because it has a built in antenna which might disrupt cockpit communications. Portable dvd players don't emit signals .

And where do you get the information of "ANY device that transmits signals is NOT allowed at all times on board a plane?"

I travel alot and I see people bring cellphones onboard.

The final approach was way too fast and consequently the pilot needed to use the entire runway to slow the plane down. Lion Air is a very unsafe airline and its on the EU banned list...avoid at all costs!

flying with lion is just plain stupid......

yes they have brand new fresh from the factory planes, yes they became the launch costumer for the 737-900ER, but what about their maintenance program? what about their cabin and flight crew training program?? 2 of their 737-900ER already involve in the same "sliding of the runway" accident. LCC in Indonesia is just pure LCC, they trade cheap flights with your life....

honestly, its not worth even a cent paying a LCC ticket.

80 % of the times i took lion air they made a very hard landing i took 5 XD only once was the pilot be able to land very smoothly

@poccarotta safe or not safe just God who decides...if we have to die, we'll die not only in the airplane, in the car, on bike, in a ship we could die everywhere...all aircraft in the whole world could be fail. if you just want to make sure, try Garuda Indonesia. almost all the planes are brand new plane!
