A long dance that I heard on the CD Krook (from 1997) by the southern Swedish folk music group Sågskära. It was played together with another (amazing) song called Röklavisan (the Röckla song), also from Småland.

I've been playing the tune for a long, long time, and sometimes I use it to check the tuning on various instruments. :)

Here I play it on the chinese fiddle called Erhu. I bought mine from Eason Music/Eason Enterprises in Singapore The take/playing is not perfect, but what hell! =P

Yes, taking tunes and trying them on other instruments can really revitalize the melody and feel...Most of the time, it's both fun and awesome!

  • That is awesome! What a surprise when I got the alert to this new video. I have the Vietnamese version of that same instrument, my mother-in-law brought back for me as a gift from her trip there. As I only play Swedish fiddle I didn't know what to do with it! Now I know! Thanks! :D
