Visit us at http://www.hillbillyreport.org I tuned into CSPAN 3 to watch the Live Stream video of the House HELP single payer hearing.
When the hearing had to temporarily adjourn for members to cast 3 votes on the House floor CSPAN 3 inserted a video of Betsy McCaughey, PhD. of the conservative Manhattan Institute speaking about the evils of single payer. When CSPAN 3 retuned to the HELP single payer hearing, the hearing was already in progress. What kind of coverage is this? Of course the video of the hearing is up now without Betsy McCaughey, PhD. of the conservative Manhattan Institute. Kind of like it never happened, but it did and I have the video to prove it.
It appears to me CSPAN 3 has taken sides on this issue and what they did is very questionable.
Dennis Kucinich kind of evened things out when set Dr. David Gratzer, Manhattan Institute Senior Fellow, straight during the hearing and that video is below, if CSPAN 3 doesn't make me take it down.

  • I'm amazed anyone feels bad for this conniver. Yeah Kucinich is kind of a 'bully' at first, but then he allows the guy to answer for the rest of the video, and the guy says NOTHING; Kucinich has no choice but to answer for him. Besides, how many people/ institutions do you think Dr. Gratzer has stepped on? I'm not about to feel sympathy for this snake just because he's acting like his feelings were hurt. People like this need to start feeling bullied so maybe they'll do their goddamn jobs.

  • Why on earth didn't all you Americans vote Kucinich for President?

  • @finallykickinback Harsh! He didn't even run! One step at a time..let Obama kick that fuckwit Romney aside first, then start a real dialogue,

  • The guy in the background is smiling. lol

  • Private non-profit, tax-exempt "think tank" making US govt. policy based on what will benefit insurance companies and pharma companies. That's right, our legislators do not make policy. His position is not respectable. His sorry ass represents big money. Kucinich should have been elected President instead of that lying sack of shit who's done nothing but destroy the Constitution and the lives of millions of people, and continue the Bush policies to destroy the world economy.

  • @1dducks Irrelevant. You implied Koch's donations to his organization is what's driving his beliefs/rhetoric (something you have no evidence of), thus it must also apply to every other organization Koch has donated to.

    Google it.

  • @H1TMANactual My comment was specific to Gratzer. The other institutions are not related to the cast in this vid. Validate your sources.

  • @1dducks Koch has also given to:

New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell: $15 million

M.D. Anderson Cancer Center: $25 million

The Hospital for Special Surgery: $26 million

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center: $30 million

    Prostate Cancer Foundation: $41 million

    Deerfield Academy: $68 million

Lincoln Center's NY State Theater: $100 million

    MIT: $139 million

Thus anyone who works for these institutions automatically have the opinion Koch want them to. Nice logic. Try again.

  • gratzer is actually very smart. Maybe the chinaman can go gack to his communist home country and see if socialism works out over there

  • @BeantownJim Actually almost none of the universal healthcare system in the world actually dictate which hospital, doctor, or the treatments you choose.

There are many types of universal healthcare models. Japan use government negotiated prices with the private sector, Taiwan is one of paying into the system, and then there are public option to keep prices moderate, and single payer which is centralized.

It would be the same coverage, just cheaper, and likely covers more illness and injury.

  • Sourcewatch shows the Koch Industries donated $800,000 to the Manhattan Institute, which Gratzer works for. an arrogant tool who is full of himself.
