  • thanxs for the vid!

didnt had the chance to see the first moments, yet!

one of the greatest projects they did!

    it was breathtaking, wasnt it?

  • Yes! I was able to schedule a business trip for the unveiling. Also saw Christo's Running Fence (Sonoma, CA), Pont Neuf wrap (Paris) amd Umbrellas (Tejon Pass, CA). This was right up there with the Fence . . .

  • Bahaha I love the musings of what is most likely some East Village environmentalist nut. 1) Central Park is 100% man made as is 2) All $26 million spent on this project was raised by Christo and his wife by selling their own prints 3) Everything was recycled. ...you're a moron. This project brought a beautiful vitality to the park for the 10 days it was up.

  • I never understood the significance of the gates, if there was one, but the feeling i had being in central park with my mom, and brother, and thousands of strangers,at one time, in one space, all experiencing this kinda surreal once in a lifetime event is something i'll never forget.

  • @WAKEUPshift111 Tits on a bull is the significance of Cristo's work in Central Park

  • wow, this is really wonderful! compassion + wisdom + love for all beings... :)

  • My favorite comment was what this one New Yorker said when a documentarian asked him if he didn't think these were beautiful because they were for everyone. "If I come and shit on your lawn, and say it's for everyone..." "Do you think this is shit on a lawn?" "Basically."

  • I went there

  • @andykingandthenation Your a huge retard.

  • The Artwork was totally paid by Christo. Nothing was destroyed, no digging, no cutting of trees, no damage to the ground.

Everything was recycled, all the money is coming from selling printed paintings, drawings, and such things.

  • que pura mierda lo estan poniendo!!!

  • A marvelous work of art from such a simple idea. It really brought people out and generated over $100 million dollars in revenue for the city.

  • Not a waste... I was there and can tell you that the smiles and great mood of all the people there was worth more than $26 million dollars... and, can say that I have never before or since felt such a single community of people in my life!
