I'm not sure why you're so upset about Scotty winning. As you've pointed out, Idol also-rans usually do better than the winners. I think the original A.I. idea was to discover the hidden talent, people who probably would never be known outside their local areas if not for being "discovered." Carrie Underwood is a perfect example; so is Scotty. Hailey & James got their exposure, as did Daughtry & Lambert. Now it's up to them.
