Ich habe auch gehoert, dass man Wellensittiche und Nymphensittiche nicht zusammen halten solle. Aber ich habe ein maennliches Nymphensittich, das ganz in einem weiblichen Wellensittich verliebt ist! Dapper Dan und Lilliebelle lassen sich nicht trennen. Sie haben eben eine Art "bumsen" entwickelt, eine Art muendlicher Geschlechtsverkehr (wie sagt man "oral sex" auf Deutsch! Deutsch ist nicht meine Muttersprache. Wenn es Fehler gibt, Entschuldigung!)

Yeah, budgies are the only species in their genus so that puts them too far removed from their nearest relative to breed successfully.

You are right. They don't even breed within their former neophema genus, one of the reasons they are now neopsephotus (spelling?) But I loved ours, he was perfect.
