Xcuse me? Look at the album credits on Aftermath. Yes, there it is: Brian Jones, Marimbas. Nothin bout xylophone. It is always mentioned that Brian does marimbas on Thumb. Sorry. Didn't mean to ruffle feathers. Folks sure nasty here.

Thats not a marimba you smarmy prick. a marimba is a "thumb piano". I picked one up in Africa when I was stationed there. its the size of a cigar box and you pluck metal tabs with your thumb. I believe hes playing the vibes? maybe a xylophone. Def not a marimba.

Zep also dishonest. They ripped off so many blues artists and didn't give credit. The Stones made sure that every cover song they did, the royalties got to the artist. The blues guys respected the Stones authenticity for R&B, especially Brian. Brian was the first in England to play slide guitar and he figured out Bo Diddley's guitar sound before anyone else did.

Actually, it's called a "marimba". This was 1966, about 3 years before Brian was "fired". It's debatable just how f*cked up Jones actually was at the time of his death. He was getting a new band together, rehearsing daily, and was quite excited about starting over again. He was a musical visionary and there were so many roads he might have taken musically. In this video, he defines and epitomizes COOL.
