This is a great song for relaxation. It fuses together Middle Eastern/Arabic sounds with the rich sounds of the Indian subcontinent. The result is a desert sound unique to the Thar Desert of Rajasthan. This song was composed by Zakir Hussain in the north Indian Hindustani classical music style.

  • To me it sounds more Indian than Middle Eastern. By the way, do you know the name of the instrument that makes little "bloop" sounds in this song? You can start hearing it clearly around 3:39. I've heard it in a lot of Indian songs but I don't think I've ever heard it in an Arab/Middle Eastern song.

Anyway, it's a nice song overall.

  • Yeah its definately Indian of course but there is a little Islamic influence int the music. It doesn't sound like classical Hindu music.

The instrument....the bloop is the drum sound? If so, its probably a tabla then.

  • @Aryeztur yes it is the tabla.

  • @Aryeztur lets not mix up religion with cultural music distinction. but you are right, this definitely combines the typical middle eastern music/instruments with indian ones, and it is incredible
