I'm always skeptical about anything a known ideologue gets really excited about. This includes both Al Gore and Glenn Beck.

Every single time some previous scientific analysis is proven inadequate/poor, or proven to be in need of revision, everyone says "HA!! SEE? These guys were full of BS back then, which means they're full of BS today and should never be trusted again."

That isn't rational, and it certainly doesn't help one maintain an open mind in the future.
