This final tutorial looks at how to use parts already written in Reason, export the data and put that MIDI data into Logic. Very handy.

  • Hey, i got a question. I need to know if its possible to make what's passing trough an aux channel to go to an audio track and record it? i.e. I have a full session on reason and i want to record every single instrument on logic so i can modify them as audio waves and also record some guitar on it. Hope you can help me.

  • Yup you can do that - just set the Output of that Aux channel to its own Bus, and set the Audio channel input to the same Bus number.

    Should work fine :)

  • hey guys bit of a weird question.

i was wondering if it was possible to put reason synths into logic permanently without having to rewire it????

  • no - not possible

  • thank you so much for the tutorial. I have a question; When I play another instrument in logic that's not from reason, the instrument in reason also plays wich is very irritating.. what can i do about it?

  • Hi

Sounds like you have the MIDI armed in Reason too. Go to Reason and make sure the MDI cable symbol isn't on ANY track - I always create a blank track and put it on there.

What's happening is that you're playing the Logic instrument but also playing the Reason instrument too.

    Hope that helps!

  • thanks for this video tutorial, it\ heeelllpedddd a LOT!

  • Do you know where I can find a tutorial on how to export my final product? Is it possible with rewiring reason into logic to export a full track for itunes play ?

  • Good tutorial, cheers

  • Thanks alot for your tutorials, they are very informative and well executed.I have quick question: how do u go about closing, reopening, and bouncing your projects when you rewire? do you simply save two files for the same beat (i.e. one for your logic file, and one for the rewired reason file)? when you bounce the final production do you have to do anything with reason as well, or does it finalize it with the reason parts automatically? i presume if you reopen a project to edit, you open 2 files?

  • It's videos like yours that make life easier - thanks

  • Great tutorials, still absolutely relevant for reason 5 and logic 9 although the hardware interface has changed a little in R5. Your slight burst of madness whilst trying to arrange the ext midi tracks in Logic made me chuckle. I'll put it down to it being 1am.

  • @ArmandZentil its just you

  • Hey I'm having trouble with the MIDI armed in Reason as well, I think, but I don't know what MDI cable symbol you're referring to.. I tried disabling the one in the lane next to M (mute) and S (solo), but that didn't work!
