  • Have you ever considered that the napkin covering his head was on the outside of the shroud, which would not effect the image?

  • @Orates2008 What would be the point of the 2nd napkin if the head was already covered?Lazarus is a good example of burial practices. He was bound hand & foot & had a separate napkin on his head. It was not a sheet just laid over him or he wouldn't have had to been unbound by others when he came out. The fact that he walked out indicates he was probably wrapped like Egyptian mummies (which may be where they got the practice) which means individual limbs were wrapped. It does say clothes, plural.

  • @conniemaew I am not an expert on ancient Jewish burial practices. Maybe they did a hurried job, which is why the women came back to the tomb on Sunday. The image on the shroud is full length and includes the head. I believe it is a photograph of a body that was crucified. If there was a separate head cloth, and the shroud is genuine, then there must be an explanation. The shroud does not affect my faith, but it might influence others if proven to be genuine- which I believe will happen soon.

  • @Orates2008 To follow up- the woman returned to the tomb on Sunday to annoint the body. If the shroud wrapping was finished, they would have to upwrap the body to annoint it. It makes sense that the shroud was just draped over the body quickly without the traditional mummy wrapping, and the women came to finish the job.

  • @Orates2008 yes, they did hurry. body wasn't prepared. done right, the cloth

(say 14, 15 feet long would be wind say.... very much like the indian sari. doing it right, would leave the face uncovered,,,,that is the reason for a separate cloth

like a napkin to cover the face. (jewish and islamic burial rites are same)

  • @gyreenedoc Might be true in some situations, but in this case the body was layed out on the shroud and the cloth was folded over the top without wrapping and without a face cloth. That is why the image appears like a negative photographic plate- otherwise it would all be distorted- assuming it is the burial shroud of Jesus of course.

  • Beautiful video

  • you know it doesn't really matter what Jesus looked like, as long as you know he died for your sins.

  • @Orates2008 yes, that is why i said "wasn't prepared, done right" they were in hurry

to finish before the sun down...

  • @JREAMdesign you are taking a "saying" literally. it is a "word usage" like jesus

saying "suffer the little children to.....etc" did he mean " make children suffer"? every

language has those that cannot be transliterated. you must understand how it is used

    not what is means literally.

  • @gyreenedoc I could see why Herod was scared of him!

  • @gyreenedoc We would call him Mentally Unstable. He would then be put in a Rubber Room.

  • @brian6078 what would you think of someone who lives out in the desert, sticks, or whatever..... eating bugs, and whatever he finds., wraps himself in animal skins, (the story doesn't say they were clean or tanned. and claims hearing and yet...... totally forgets hearing the booming voice of god say: "this is my son in whom i am well pleased!" to send a guy to ask jesus "if he is the one we have been waiting for?" BETTER YET what would we call him today?
