We didn't really believe in what we were saying, all of us do believe in E.S., OSAS. The debate was part of our class; learning to debate and hold to the right doctrines of the KJB.

@bmg15charlie Guys in that passage, the word ''burn'' is referring to burn with LUST. It makes sense according to the context.

Mathew-John B4 The Cross Is OLD TESTAMENT. Acts 2-Rev 22 is The New Testament Of Jesus 1 Cor 15:1-4 Jesus Did Not Preach His Death, Burial, and Resurrection B4 The Cross. You Will Fall From Grace Following The Law Of Moses Jesus Taught in Mathew-John B4 The Cross. @bmg15charlie You ask where does it talk about "evil thoughts", but where does it talk about Hell? Why in the world would Paul say that it's better to get married than to go to Hell? That does not fit in the context of the chapter! As far as the use of the Greek word, translation is done by context. If you were to translate the Bible "literally" word for word from Greek the grammar would be horrific. This is a well known fact. The word burn was used to describe the desire of the unmarried woman.
-
@bmg15charlie Do you have the original Greek? Looking up a word in the back of a Strong's Concordance is not reading from the original Greek. No one has the original Greek! It has been destroyed for 1,000's of years. One man's definition of a Greek word does not necessarily mandate it's definition within every verse in the Bible. The Bible always defines itself, and in this passage, the context is marriage and fornication. Compare the word "burn" with Rom. 1:27. You must define by context...
-
@bmg15charlie The phrase to which you are referring, "for it is better to marry than to burn" is not referring to burning in Hell, but burning is LUST. Read the context of the chapter and you will see the proper interpretation of this passage is that it is better for woman to marry if they are not strong enough to douse the temptation of sexual relations. If they are burning inside for a man, it is better to marry than to have improper lust. This verse and passage in no way refers to Hell.

@ngbiblog so you do not believe in an ACTUAL atonement? You believe in a possible atonement?
Why is it that advocates of "falling from grace" never lose THEIR salvation? They sit in judgment of others actions and "play God". They look on those who have fallen, as all flesh does, and say, "Oh, he couldn't be saved!" The only person that I KNOW is saved is ME. Have these "fallen from grace-ers" ever lost their salvation? I have hardly met anyone of their like who admits that THEY have lost THEIR salvation. No, they just sit in judment of the salvation of other, perverting the Scriptures.

Also, if eternal security is not true the promise of I Jn. 5:13 is nullified. God said, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW THAT YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." How can I KNOW I have eternal life when at any second I could fall from grace? Heb. 6:4-6 says that it's impossible for those who have fallen to be renewed again. If what u believe is true and I lose it I can't ever get it back!

Scripture is a wonderful thing. God only has ONE opinion. Their is no private interpretation of Scripture. (2 Pet. 1:20) God believes ONE thing about eternal security. If God does not believe in eternal security, please expalin John 5:24 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." God said I SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION,EVER, after salvation.
