  • Very interesting video, and I think it helps me get the right mindset for my Europe bicycle trip coming up here next month. How was touring in the winter through Europe? Were you able to stealth camp? Can you jump on a train through most of Europe if needed? My very basic idea for getting around Europe was Manchester-London-Paris-Amsterdam-through Germany-Greece-Italy-up the coast of Italy- to Spain-fly home. Do you think the route is feasible?

  • Well done @bicycletouringpro I think 2-3 weeks in one place is a really great idea. Even from where we are here in Brisbane Australia, there are at least a dozen excellent rides I can think of if you just ride out the front gate.

  • great vid quality im a biker and respect the fact you did all that i khow motorists can be a hazard thanks..

  • I like it. Vey interesting!

  • I love it, you didn't rush your trip. Thats the way to go. I been traveling the country on my bicycle for almost a year now. I think it's the cheapest and easiest way to experience everything. Life at 15mph.

  • I didn't actually work in normal jobs while I was traveling. Instead, I work for myself. I run a number of online businesses, which allows me to work from just about anywhere in the world as long as I have an Internet connection. It took me about 3 years to build up to this point however... and it took a lot of work. You can get jobs while you are traveling however. You just gotta get out there and meet people, talk, and impress! The bike helps you do this however.

  • Wow, I'm really impressed. I'm getting really bored of the amount of comfort and security I have in my home and I plan to go biking for a while as well. What kind of jobs did you have and how did you find them? How long do you think it would take to bike from Denmark to Paris?

  • Hey Darren! Congrats on such an amazing feat! I've taken a few touring trips in my life in both North America and Europe, but never anything this long! Wow, you must have seen so much during these months on the road.

An inspiration. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us and keep on riding!

  • Laurie,

I'll talk about my camera in a future article/video. But It is a Flip Mino HD camera.

The reason my other videos have not been as clear is because I edited them before posting to YouTube and when my computer broke in February it knocked out some of my video capabilities, which reduced the overall quality of the videos I produced. Ugh!

Now that I am back home I plan to fix my computer so all my videos look this good... hopefully!

  • Darren your video is the clearest and sharpest I've ever seen here and I'm not watching in HD. So what camera are you filming this on and what encoding process do you use for uploading to youtube. I would greatly appreciate that info.

I also love your intentions of sharing how to make a living while making a life on the road. I hope you will really dive deep into that by sharing all your ideas and inspiration. I just love your work! Warmly, Laurie

    PS - Welcome home!~
