Sheldon Souray cheapshots Craig Weller in a NHL fight. (2009)

Sheldon Souray of the Oilers intentionally uses his wristguard to "jam" Craig Weller in the face during a fight. Souray doesn't attempt to punch Weller, instead he uses his wristguard to injure Weller and eventually knock him out during the NHL game on 1/13/2009. Souray didn't receive an extra penalty nor was given a suspension. In fact, the assistant manager in the NHL office mentioned that they might not even "look" at the incriminating video when asked by Minnesota reporters....Weller ended up missing a month of play...

Don't try and post the rule when you have NO FUCKING IDEA how to interpret it.

Rule #56 in NHL book states that equipment can't be past the wrist in a fight - go ahead put your bong down for 5 minutes and watch the video again...

If you honestly think the wrist guard isn't "below" the wrist - then you definitely are as stupid as your last post.

I'm sure you think Bertuzzi wasn't in the wrong either..

all i have to say is that if you seriously think that is a cheap shot, then you CLEARLY have never played the game competitavely. if you believe that Souray had the time to think to himself "hey i'm gonna use my wrist guard as a fighting tool" during a fight then he has more problems then you originally thought in the first place. its a fight buddy, thats all it was. nothing in this video shows me anything CLOSE to a cheap shot. but thanks for showing me how bad weller got owned

yeah he was definitly using the guard... you are not even supposed to have it on if you throw a punch.. iv'e seen fights like with Darrin McCarty.. have to clutch and tear it off with his teeth before he can throw anything... maybe Souray just forgot he had it on lol
