Girls Day is an annual event that aims to provide young girls, from the neighborhoods of East Palo Alto, East Menlo Park and Redwood City, with a glimpse of what they can be when they grow up. It is a day for each girl to admire an older female for the achievements she has accomplished in her respective college or professional career. We will pair each female volunteer with one female club member in the 7th or 8th grade. The girls and their respective mentors will spend the whole day together. Together they will participate in various activities including: goal setting, leadership, careers, sisterhood, self-esteem, taking care of your body, Dance, solving problems as a group and engaging in fun ice-breaker activities. Lunch and a live performance is provided.
To sign up as a mentor for Girl's Day 2008 email lganz@bgcp.org. Girl's Day will take place on Saturday, March 8th from 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
