Sharmyn McGraw searched for answers for seven years for whatever it was that was killing her; finally she diagnosed herself via the Internet with Cushing's disease, caused by a pituitary brain tumor. www.hormones411.org
Man I've got most of the symptoms. Pple keep telling me that it's in my head. Even the Drs dun seem to believe me. My tests results are negative. but I can feel that somehting is wrong with me.
Are females more likely to have Cushing's Syndrome than males? Is it more likely to occur in adults than in children or adolescents? I read a story in a biology book about a male child with Cushing's.
I have a lot of the symptoms. I've been diagnosed with just overeating, yet when I tell them how I eat, they do not believe me. I was 180 up until I was 23 years old, then all the sudden, I started gaining weight for no reason, eventually no longer able to ride my bike, etc. I just had some blood tests, and everything except my white blood count, and ESR rates were normal. WBC was 13.9 (4-11), and ESR was 51 (0-15). More test are being done.
How long did it take for doctors to finally find out it was cushings? I have been on an incline of weight gain for a few years now and I still can't find a doctor to listen to when I say "I dont feel this way because i'm overweight, I'm overweight because I feel this way"
I strongly believe I have cushings, I'm still trying to find a doctor that will listen and help me
stuttering is part of it too? I just realised I have that symptom as well

Much more common in women, and arises more often between the ages of 20-45 but can be seen in children as well.
