  • Just restored my SW100 with new FFC ribbon. Mine works great! I need to adjust the frequency as it is a tad off. Nice video! 73 Rod KB8DNS

  • Hey Rod,

    My advice for you.

When you installed the FFC ribbon, before you close the upper hatch of the SW100, use the sticky transparent tape and use it to cover complete ribbon in 2 layers, so when you close and open the radio for many times there is almost no chance to FCC ribbon crack again. The sticky tape greatly help to ribbon stays much stronger and resistant on frequent open-close-open process. I do so, and I do not care anymore about the ribbon.

  • Hvala Marko! I have to open the rig up any way so this would be a good time to install the friction cover! 73 Rod KB8DNS
