This video goes over how to disable the error reporting service that sends crash reports to microsoft (if you let it). Now if you are feeling charitable, then you can leave this error reporting service enabled and continue to send anonymous information to Microsoft. However, since microsoft announced it was no longer going to support the Windows XP operating system at some point, the error reporting service essentially becomes more useless then ever - and the crash reports probably end up being sent to some international logging system that prints them out and shreds them (why not?). Anyways, you may as well disable the error reporting service that sends crash reports and move on with your life.

  • I was wondering, i got my desktop back in 2006, so its kinda old..and lately my computer has been restarting by its self like when im running a program or two or try to open a program/file, also my virus protection kept undoing the update for itself right after i updated it...iv switched virus protection so i dont think it is a problem anymore.but i still get a random restart..and the occasional blue screen starting today :( im going to be getting a new hard drive..is that what i should do?

  • It sounds like you're getting a viral corruption in your hard drive. I would recommend running Hitachi's Drive Fitness Test just to make sure. I will PM you the link.

  • is there a episode 24?

  • Not yet, walked away from it for a bit to move forward with another series, the Virus Removal series and the faster Vista series - I will return to this one later to rekindle interest.

  • can u do one for vista? please

  • Don't worry, it's in my pipeline and the next faster computer series is on Vista. :D Make sure to subscribe and keep in touch, I will probably be starting it towards the end of this month.
