Drag Race, Ford Maverick vs. Chevelle, burnout mistake

I'm in the Maverick racing my buddies Big Block Chevelle back in college, and, well, I screw up the burnout. Get it right the second time though. This was at Montgomery Motorsports Park. FWIW the Maverick has run a 13.06@105.9

typical low compression mav. my pos mav has around 210 horses cause of stock heads, cam, etc......

Eh, a low compression Maverick won't be in the 13s. It's actually approx 10.2:1 compression, a late model 1987 5.0L with a carb installed.

its the only car ford produced that out sold the Mustang....granted that the mustangs were hard on the eyes in the 70's

i'm 18 and i got a 70 mav that i converted to look just like the one in this video, same color, stripes, hood, etc.

its a fun car and you'll get lots of compliments

the maverick was fords version of the nova but it never really took off. imo mavs are great drag cars cuz their swb lightweight v8 capable
