The Hon. Simon and Minty Marchmont demonstrate the importance of preparing exciting dishes for a child's birthday party - organic venison, fennel bruschetta and a Torta di Castagne. (A must-watch for those child-free by choice amongst us!)

Stars Richard E. Grant and Arabella Weir. Aired February 11, 2003

Crisp flavour crisps!? Who wrote the script for this show? They are genius.

I especially like that little gem of advice form Minty. "Useful tip: If you can't afford sixteen pounds eighty for a kilo of chipolatas, you should't really be starting a family. LOL !!!!Thanks Minty, i'll bear that in mind.

Like many of you, I too stumpled onto this after Hollywood at Home. Where has this bedazzled gem been hiding from me all this time?

I accidentally found this on PBS years ago and didn't realize it was a parody at first, until it started amping up the crazy. One of the best-written comedy shows ever. So close to the real thing, it's scary.

Yes, I'm aware of that. However there are special chocolates made for dogs which are available in Britain - or at least they were when I lived there. My family had a very small dog, and in Scotland people would often give us chocolates specifically for her. She lived a very healthy life, and died when she was 15.

Chocolate is toxic to all dogs. It contains theobromine. The toxicity depends on the dose, so the darker the chocolate the more theobromine, and the larger the dog the more it can eat before being poisoned. It's really not something you should ever feed your dog, no matter what the breed.

No. In Britain chocolate is a fairly common treat for most dogs. I believe there may be certain breeds that can't eat chocolate, but most dogs can. Of course, it would only be a once in a while treat, not every day.

Wait a minute. If you give chocolate cake to a dog, won't it...die?
