The Star Dust Drive-In Theatre in Seymour, Indiana, I shot this footage in 1994 shortly before it was torn down, I,m sorry I do not have any video of the back side of the screen, this is the drive-in that was featured in John Mellencamps "Small Town" Video, there is no music or narration in this video, I simply wanted to capture the lonely, empty feeling that surrounded this place in its waning days, the wind, birds, and passing traffic just adds to the realism of the video. I hope that if anyone out there has any pleasant memories of this drive-in, they will be able to relive them through these images. Thanks, and Enjoy!!

  • Having documented dozens of drive ins myself, I must tell you that personnally, I have a good feeling about finding out a drive in I've documented is gone. I'm sad, sometimes angry about the loss, but deep down I am happy that I captured a moment in time that alows it to, in a way, live on. You can be proud of documenting this wonderful drive in. Its' history is enhanced by your efforts and this entertaining clip is really appreciated!

  • @RQVOutdoorMoovies Thank you very much! I have enjoyed your videos as well.

  • excellent video.thanks for sharing

  • @theshatnerman4242 Thanks, when I recorded this YouTube didn,t exist! I was simply recording this for myself because I knew it would be gone soon, I tried to just hold the camera still on each scene so I could just look at it once in a while without having to keep stopping and going forward or backward.

  • @michaelPG7 Thank you. I'm looking forward to getting back on the road and watching other preoples videos are inspireing.

  • My Aunt and Uncle would take us here when we were kids. I remember sitting in front of their 76 Monte Carlo watching the movie until the gravel got too hard to sit on. She would always get a dill pickle from the snack bar and we would get hot dogs and a soda. Brings back many memories seeing this again. Thanks for posting.

  • Really loved going there when I was a kid.
