First off genius, there is no "laws" of the land, there's only the "law" of the land, our Constitution, not that you're aware of that or anything. Secondly, yes, we Americans DO abide by most of our laws. Illegal immigrants rarely comply with any of them, beginning with the moment they illegally entered the country! GoldenGateMinutemen is right, laws have been formed, and YOU and everyone else are expected to obey them. If you don't, the law will find you sooner or later. Good luck running.
