  • did henry out live his owners????

  • Yes

  • Another great video. Listen to the "expert" commentator before the start. He says "John

Henry has made a futile trip from the west coast..." I guess John wasn't listening to him. JH beats a field of excellent horses on the dirt which was not his favorite surface. What a super little dynamo.

  • The "expert" was Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder, the worst TV handicapper of all time (even stole his nickname from Nicholas Dandolos aka "Nick the Greek"), who was a VERY professional gambler). I was all over Snyder after the race; he hustled out of ther pretty quickly.

  • Great race! I loved the handicapping experts comments at the very beginning. Great stuff! We miss you John!

  • John always seemed to show his white shadow roll just when the real running was about to begin. Of course sometimes he just said screw it and he would put himself on the lead. He was a little bulldog of a horse. SPECIAL!!

  • Jimmy the Green = FAIL! XD

  • Absolutely a brilliant Race, especially with Frankie on Peat Moss those two came so very close to winning that race, just a stride away! really fought for it ...especially with their odds ! and John Henry well hes a great horse that will never be forgotten :) great race most definitely. The horses and jockeys together have heart a true team.

  • Shoemaker gave John Henry a perfect ride...absolutely perfect.

  • What you said about Jimmy "the Greek" was right on the money - he was kind of arrogant too, in a way, but I could never understand why. I watched J.H. up close and personal every time he ran at either Santa Anita or Hollywood Park. I've been going to the track for over 50 years, and he's STILL the animal I compare all others to. It's long gone, but I would have loved to get ahold of his shadow roll, just to have it. Sam Rubin was very humble, but a good owner. He let J.H. run everywhere.

  • @FutureJockey35

    ..Your absolutely right!. Fugettaboutit...Lol.

  • Awesome race! Amusing how they wrote Peat Moss off before the start and then he comes back and gets second, losing by a head to John Henry. And Frankie was on him!! So awesome.
