    You only need about 3 tools.

  • @SculptorRon I thought so as I was watching, then you said Montana and I knew you had to be from Libby. I grew up there and I knew I'd seen you around more than once. My dad is Red Morton, if that rings a bell. Again, thanks for the videos. I started my first carving yesterday and they helped out quite a bit.

  • Hey mrjibbo44.. Ponderso Pine might be a bit soft for a gun stock. A 22 doesn't need to be a hard wood but something harder than a pine. Black Walnut is a common wood for rifles that are high powered. I don't carve gun stocks but I've never heard of one being carved in pine.
