Or that it is three years later, and Apple is still producing closed platforms. Making the comment still valid.

Regardless, you're asking a none Mac user what 3rd party programs are accessible to Mac users. What I know is Macs, like all Apple products, are locked down and proprietary. The specifics of which Mac users would know better.

@vajksziget7a Things have changed a bit in the last "three years" since this comment is made. But compared to PC, Macs are still largely a closed platform. They don't support the 3rd party, they tolerate it; and set strict guidelines.
