Israeli drone attacks killed 825 civilians in Gaza since 2006

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) says Israeli forces used drones to kill hundreds of Palestinians in the Gaza strip since 2006.


According to the rights group Israeli aerial vehicles killed 825 civilians in the blockaded coastal enclave including women and children.

Israel deploys drones to initiate attacks or to mark targets for air-strikes to be carried out by Apache helicopters and F16 fighter jets. They were heavily used during the war on Gaza which claimed the lives of nearly 1400 Gazans and the injury of thousands.

Analysts say, the United States and Israel closely collaborate on the development of unmanned aerial vehicles. According to them, Israel is using the Gaza Strip as testing ground for its weapons.

Israeli drones fly non-stop in the Gaza sky with their buzzing sound which could be heard day and night, a dull distant purr that within moments swells into the rattling sound similar to that of a motorcycle.

With the international apathy towards the plight of Palestinians, experts say Gaza residents will continue to be at the mercy of Israel and its internationally banned weapons.

The Israeli regime has launched a systematic attempt to redraw the map of the occupied Palestinian territories by advertising tourism maps in the UK newspapers.

An Israeli tourism map appearing in the London-based newspaper The Guardian last weekend rendered occupied Palestinian and Syrian territories as part of "Israel".

The three-page advertising spread from the Israeli tourism ministry in the Guardian Weekend is part of what increasingly looks like a major new advertising campaign in the UK.

On the map, the occupied West Bank is labeled "Judea" and "Samaria" (names from religious texts used by Israeli colonists). The West Bank, Gaza Strip and the Syrian Golan Heights, are delineated only by a faint dotted line.

Under international law, all three are occupied territories, which were invaded and occupied by the Israeli regime in 1967. Later in 2005, the occupying regime was forced to evacuate the Gaza Strip under international pressure.

On Monday the Guardian issued a correction stating the ad "did not distinguish clearly between Israel" and the occupied Arab territories.

In its letter of apology, the newspaper said: "they usually carefully check any potentially controversial adverts prior to publication, however in this instance we had a systems breakdown and did not do so".
The ad is part of what seems to be a major recent campaign in the UK. Large billboards have appeared in public spaces encouraging people to "Think Israel".

The website to this campaign contains an even more offensive and racist map. The West Bank appears even more solidly absorbed into "Israel proper" (without even a dotted line), with mysteriously empty pink and yellow blobs appearing where Palestinians live in built-up areas. There is no clue that the Golan is anything more than a part of "northern Israel".

The website's home page also offers links to "Christian themes" and "Jewish themes" but no "Muslim themes", wiping the Islamic heritage of Palestine off the map.

I am a Gnostic christian (which doesn't mean much. I just don't understand fully this conflict.) I feel the Israel; has a lot of weapons and support; and the Palestinian are fighting for some basic rights. With rocks; and other low grade weapons. (Is their a priest; out there; that have's the conviction; to read the Torah and the The Holy Qur'an?) and understands our duty when we claim that. "I am son of god." from whatever holy book you claim it from? The meaning is the same!

I have read many different philosophies; but this is very old conflict. If we feed the people and use spiritual conduct; instead of just political talks. We might be able to calm down the anger enough for reason to take root. But honestly;I have no clue; I just wish; we could end this long conflict.
