Silk Part 6

A married silkworm smuggler, Herve Joncour, in 19th Century France who travels to Japan to collect his clandestine cargo. While there he spots a beautiful Japanese woman, the concubine of a local baron, with whom he becomes obsessed. Without speaking the same language, they communicate through letters until war intervenes. Their unrequited love persists however, and Herve's wife Helene begins to suspect.

Well this film and most hollywood movies are pretty true about most Asian-Asian women, maybe not Asian American women(since they tend to act or try to act like some wild rebellious black girls) but I know that most or all Asian-Asian women are quite submissive, feminine and tend to offer themselves pretty quickly and easily to foreign men.

I am female and Asian and I have to say that stereotypes in movies is not just restricted to American or Western movies as the above comments seem to suggest, it happens in every single film culture that I know of and that includes Eastern cinema as well...it's unfortunate but also very much part of mainstream cinema culture across the borders...
