Gotta agree with crazyhorse. I tried joining three sorts of fraternities and I just wasn't feeling it...I mean in high school I hated all of my teammates in football, but we went through some tough shit together. Our entire coaching staff left us my senior year, two-a-days, senior boot camp, losses, victories, tough games, death, so much stuff. I'd call them a 'bro' before any of these clowns. Brotherhood is developed in the face of adversity. Albert Camus would agree with me.

Nice video about fraternal organizations! We have more information about men's college fraternities at fraternityinfo/./com. Nice to see Larry Wiese of Kappa Alpha Order on your video, too.

@theheff2005 No im thinking about all the deaths i have heard about in the past 10 years , relating to frats . One situation , guy ,who was confined in a basement for 2 weeks , drank so much water he died . Those frat boys are in prison now . He was forced to do it in order for him to gain acceptance .

@theheff2005 I guess it's a bit much to say the group continued, but it at least ransformed. As for the Masons, you're completely right.

the remaining Templars around Europe were either arrested and tried under the Papal investigation (with virtually none convicted), absorbed into other military orders such as the Knights Hospitaller, or pensioned and allowed to live out their days peacefully. Some may have fled to other territories outside Papal control, such as excommunicated Scotland or to Switzerland. Templar organizations in Portugal simply changed their name, from Knights Templar to Knights of Christ
Nothing is wrong with brotherhood but when you have to do stupid shit to gain acceptance , thats just dumb . Brotherhood is developed in combat , Gang wars , etc . Im a correctional officer and its us vs the inmates . We develop a brotherhood because of the war we fight in the prison .

@crazyhorse1369 What? Brotherhood is formed in many experience. Not just war. And just because it is a fraternal organization does it mean that you will be hazed. Most fraternal group shun the idea of hazing. You're thinking about Animal House stuff, not of what fraternity really means.

I don't think anyone joins Knights Templar anymore.

Knights Templar is an auxiliary group of Freemasons. To be a Knight Templar you must also be a Freemason. The same thing is true for The Shriners.

The knights Templar are long gone. The Scottish right of the Freemasons makes the claim they are connected to the Templar, but none of the symbolism is the same, and certainly not the religion. The Masons have made many historically inaccurate claims, don't take them too seriously.

Not even the current Knights Templar claim that they actually came from the historic Knights Templar.
As for masonry, there is no direct claim to anything. There are members who have come up with theories of their origins, but the truth is that before Masonry came out into the public in the 1700's there really isn't any proof of why or how the group started.
But this video isnt about any of that. Its about why these groups are still relevant today and why they are good for men.
