I don't play anything. I just get an odd satisfaction from watching videos where something is made out of raw materials. *-*

Spread across numerous independent studies throughout the world makes it statistically significant, else i wouldn't have brought it up.
Let's just go on with our lives now, shall we?

Just because it's not true in one town doesn't mean it isn't true in 150 other towns. For all we know, there could be 200 towns that are true to that staement, for every 2 towns that it isn't true for.

They play because they have to. I never said they played well. You forgot this is statistics. I'm not saying that you aren't smart, i'm not saying that you don't play well, and i'm not saying that you don't like to play an instrument. I am however tired of this conversation. Do some actual research before spreading false stereotypes, like "people who play music get better grades". This is honestly a pretty dumb statement, clearly invented by someone who didn't play an instrument. ;). Goodbye.

So why are they playing if they don't like it? And you can't forget about the remaining 20 percent, because that's like the government forgetting about the lower or middle class. Also, having wealthy parents has nothing what so ever to do with how well you play an instrument.

I am talking about statistically significant results, not about the few individuals upon whom it actually has the influence you appear to have from it.
You LIKE playing music, because it makes you feel good. About 80% of the people i know that play an instrument have wealthy parents, and 70% of them actually don't like t play at all. We had to do a research project about scientific writing and research in the last year of high school, with this very subject., which is where i got this from.

I knew his name was spelled something like that. I was debating between spelling it the way I spelled it and the way you did. Music doesn't improve a particular subject, it can be math, or even social studies.

I disagree with you, because, for me at least, playing my instrument makes me feel like I can do better, so I try to do better, which ends up with me getting a higher grade on a project because I tried harder. So really, music does (indirectly, but still does) improve grades because it raises self esteem. Also, my parents aren't "wealthy" but I still have an instrument, and am, therefore, part of the studies you talked about. I go to a regular public middle school, no pressure from the teachers!
