Good sequel to a good game. Whereas the original had a thief going through 3 screens picking up all the gold and depositing into their wheelbarrow to complete a level, in Super Bagman you have 5 screens. There are new wrinkles to the game (a sort of jump feature, to navigate gaps or pits, and an escalator), new weapons (pistols and bombs) and now the object is to get all the gold and rescue your friend. Unfortunately by now the home systems(Atari, Coleco, Intellivision) were taking much of the arcades' business and Super Bagman didn't do so well in the arcades. I however remember it fondly and still enjoy it to this day.

  • Anyone know of a site i can find this game and play for free online? without downloading a bunch of crap?? this game was awesome in its day.

  • @951Alpha

The only files you need are the latest MAMEUI32 emulator, and this ROM. Do a search for MAMEUI32 and MAME ROMS. There will be a directory for MAMEUI32 to find its roms in a folder called "roms". Put the Super Bagman rom in there.

  • song 2 in this game takes me back to my pre-school days for some reason.

  • @spectreduloft Thanks for the French lesson. :)

I'm not sure I could have gotten it even if I knew French.

  • @crazyclimber80 the wanted man said in french (a Moi le sac) meaning (it's my bag) or sometime he said (it's Mine) LOL very funny game,i already finished the first step wit the key but the next is too much hard.

  • @cameraboyqb8 I use the emulator MAMEUI32 for all my arcade gaming needs, except for my 3 arcade machines in my apartment (Phoenix, Dig Dug and Neo Geo with 13 games). Never really played Baseball Stars for the NES; Bases Loaded was my favorite baseball game, far and away. I think once or twice I have played Baseball Stars 2 and Professional for the Geo; from what I remember they weren't bad. But I prefer having shooters and fighters, mostly, for the Geo.

  • @crazyclimber80 Thanks! Do you have a system to play this and other throwback games? On another note, did you ever like Baseball Stars on the NES and/or Neo Geo?

  • @cameraboyqb8 Once you deposit all the gold in the wheelbarrow you must find a key. When you have it run back to the jail cell where your buddy is. When you unlock the cell you end the level (the two of you automatically leave the level, and you go to act 2), and get an extra life. You also have the gun automatically in your posession, and the cops will start shooting at you.

  • @crazyclimber80 You know on the second screen there's a Bagman lookalike behind bars? Does he ever come into play, or is he there "more for show?"

  • Ever notice how THREE songs are interchangeable, in terms of words and tune, and two of them appear on this game? "Red River Valley," "You are my Sunshine," and "This Land is you Land." Try singing the words of one, to the tune of the others!
