Perhaps an unusual video for a government television channel to produce, "Laid In Stone" is nonetheless the result of a special event held within the City of Allen, TX. As recent winners of Allen's Battle of the Bands competition, teenage rock group For Every Day was rewarded with a music video produced by the City's video department.

Despite an obvious presence of despair in the lives of the band members, their music is still able to offer a powerful message of hope. This story is told through not only the desperate eyes of a young woman, but also through the band's emotional performances on and around a historic railway bridge located in the City of Allen.

Formed in 2005, For Every Day continues to build a following for their high-powered, original music. The band is based in Flower Mound, Texas and is comprised of brothers Jacob (vocals, guitar) and Nick Simmons (drums), Alex Neal (lead guitar), and Tyler Gray, (bass).

For Every Day has performed regularly at festivals, private events, churches and various other venues throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Although they play some covers, For Every Day has established a reputation for delivering impactful original songs including Laid in Stone, The Price and War Within. This award-winning band released their first self-titled EP in the spring of 2008.

Lyrics:

LAID IN STONE (Words and music by Jacob Simmons) Copyright © 2008, All Rights Reserved.

I feel my soul, in two directions
I'm wholly dyed, in imperfection
I'm haunted by, my own reflection
But I'm still me

If I stood, before my fathers
Could I look them in the eyes?
And if I knew what they saw in me
Could I survive?

I'm tired of running and I'm tired of fading out
Build me a wall that won't fall down
I'm tired of fighting on my own
Send me assurance laid in stone

All in all I've made a habit,
Setting boundaries for myself
The walls keep out all I'm lacking and form my own hell

I'm tired of running and I'm tired of fading out
Build me a wall that won't fall down
I'm tired of fighting on my own
Send me assurance laid in stone

And I'll take you in, And I won't be long
And I won't stay down
