Xue Shen and Hongbo Zhao's 2003-2004 GPF LP to Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker". This is definitely one of their best skates ever, and the crowd was on its feet before the program ended.

@101tanith if I would be jealous of anyone it would be of Gordeeva & Grinkov or Miskuteniok & Dmitriev, or the Protopoppovs. That is who I would dream to skate like, not Shen & Zhou.

There's something extra special when a world class skater or pairs team chooses music as iconic and emotionally evocative as "The Nutcracker." They fused their sublime artistic talents with a musical masterpiece, and the results are nothing short of transcendent, in my opinion!!!! Good job you two :)

I was in the arena for this program and on my feet before the end of the program. One of the best performances I've ever seen for pairs skating. It's the only performance of the entire competition where I can close my eyes and bring myself back to that night in the World Arena. Just perfect. ♥

With their longevity, consistency, artistry, and sheer number of perfect performances (The Nutcracker being, perhaps, their greatest), they have to be considered the greatest pair of all time. Seriously, it doesn't get any better than these two when it comes to emotionally thrilling an audience.
