BIO
I was elected to state Rep. in 2008. I am serving my first term until the end of this year. I am presently a candidate for a second term, District 61. I am the sponsor of HB 246, the Montana Firearms Freedom Act, which passed and was signed into law, and went into effect Oct. 1, 2009. Clones of this law have passed in 4 other states, and are being considered in 20+ other states. Other legislation is being modeled on this bill.
I have been living in Montana since the 1980s, and have primarily made my living as a big game hunting guide in Montana and Alaska. I also have worked in the construction field seasonally during that time.
I am married to Susan for 15 years and live south of Livingston. I have an earned Bachelor of Science degree in German, with a minor in Industrial/Technical studies. I have lived, worked or traveled in most of a hundred countries. I am interested in learning and the outdoors. I see my role as a legislator as serving the people of Montana in promoting limited, constitutional government.
