(my bad for the distorted sound)

Just a little something I did on my phone, this was in 08.

Just a gathering of the women who are singing to a song.

The Iriji festival is, for those who know it, similar to Kwanzaa (rather, Kwanzaa is simialr to Iriji) and means New Yam festival.

It used to be for celebrating the harvest (especially of yams) and thanking the Eze (King) for a number of things. At the Iriji festival, the Kola nut also plays a vital role - see my other clip for that part.

  • We are enjoying ourself o, this clip don't represent the blessing that gathering was. Enhyi, this party was peaceful, happy, joyful - no wahala at all-at all! Smilin children everywhere. People donating they money, and wetin dey say in media: Afrikans are greedy. Na wow.

Back home, suffa neva go finish, but if we have autonomy (google Biafra) we go finish am, and we make our people chop food, chop dolla, praise Chukwu and just live the way the Most High intended.

    Igbo Kwenu!

    One,
