The more religious USA gets, the more they bash their atheists scientists, entertainers and thinkers, the deeper they are digging their own graves. If the climate gets to hostile, they leave, and your country goes down the drain. It's happened before, and it can happen again, the smart people are welcome everywhere, so they would rather go to someplace where the people welcome them.

"Gandalf" is not an atheist though, not long ago, during an interview. He said he wrips out the part that says "thou shall not lay with a man, as you do with a woman".

Something doesn't jibe right here, this is not about details of scripture. American religion is about tribalism, a safe haven for our douchebaggery. Atheists are perceived as an enemy tribe or lawless outcasts from all tribes. This problem does not exist in Europe, maybe except Poland. What does it mean for the atheist movement? Are its methods best in that situation? On the net yes, certainly. But does that change anything in real life situations?

Religion is dying and these death throes are merely the reaction to the fact that religious "truths" are indefensible in a modern society. The word religion means linking back – linking back thinking and beliefs that the human species devised when it knew nothing. Religion used to be right about everything; how the world was formed (flat and in three levels), benefits of human sacrifice, etc. Soon, our species will outlive entirely the need for any of the superstitious nonsense of religion.
