@HellboundApostate Morals exsist without man and are clearly not invented by man....yes we can see by studing Nazi prison gaurds that the conscience can be numbed, but that confirms what the biblle says.
@HellboundApostate (there's evidence to suggest that it's a product of social evolution) I've seen no evidence, and there is no logical way to explaine away the fact that we know right and wrong...the conscience reacts when we have done somthing wrong, we're moral beings. I'll show you, answer this questions, Is it wrong torture children for fun? everyone says yes, If the universe didn't exsist it would still be wrong. you see morals are Eternal, Immaterial and unchangable...
@truth4U2C The problem with that argument is that God doesn't exist. Sure, human conscience exists, but at least there's evidence to suggest that it's a product of social evolution. There isn't a modicum of evidence to suggest that it comes from God--or even that God exists in the first place.
I already tried the repenting thing when I was a kid. I now find much greater solace in doing the right thing for the benefit of humanity rather than submission to the whims of a fictional god.
@HellboundApostate Since we know right and wrong, because of our conscience reacts to injustice, we know that a higher justice exsists....this higher court, must have a Holy (perfect) Judge, so in light of his holiness, we are all criminals deserving the death penalty. The fact that you judged God as unjust shows that you, like all of fallen mankind know the principles of justice, but choose to use your logic to judge God instead of summitting to God's authority. You are in rebellion, Repent.
Interesting that the person who says "the laws don't fit the crime" believes in a god that would subject billions of people to eternal torture as punishment for two people eating an apple.
Also, prayed was not "kicked out of school" in Engel v. Vitale. The decision determined that REQUIRING official school prayer and its recitation is unconstitutional, which it is. Would you like your kids to be required to pray to Allah or Shiva every day? If not, thank this decision.
