  • why do you have that thing on your upper body while shooting? whats that thing for?

  • @albundyhun

It's a chest guard. Stops your clothing catching the string and deflecting the shot.

  • Your shoulder is a little high. This may cause a problem in your shooting. Your elbow might get locked because of it and you may not be able to do the required amount of push-pull after a few rounds as well. You can even get hurt with the string on your bow arm.

    Try relaxing it a bit.

But otherwise, you are great . :)

  • This footage is almost two yrs old. The front shoulder is better in the May 09 footage. I made a few changes. Not really shooting recurve as much right now, so current technique vids reflect a total lack of practice.

  • How long have you been doing archery for?

  • 20 years

  • I don't know. Isn't the left shoulder a little too high?

  • @erikaanear From a personal trainers point of view, you need to bend you left elbow a little, lower the left shoulder a little "putting it in place" to stabilize it, and you have some problems stabilizing your right shoulderblade, so you need to work the lower portion of your M. Trapezius and M. Serratus anterior, but i think you might have a tight M. Subscapularis and/or trigger points in this or the other rotatorcuff muscles if this motion is done repeatedly. Your rotatorcuff muscles are huge

  • It kinda looks like ur relaxing ur back once u get to anchor and ur pulling through the clicker with ur shoulder. U wanna keep the tension in your back through out the entire shot until the clicker goes off

  • I reckon the front shoulder is pretty good. She is shooting a recurve, after all.. I'm guessing at around 40# on the fingers? Having no shirt on & exposing the shoulders may make it seem exagerated but its not often people are shown with completely bare shoulders..

  • @erikaanear Thanks!
