Don't Brake for the Documentary is a companion piece to the non-epic Super 8 zombie film, Don't Brake for the Dead.
Shot simultaneously to DBFTD, the Documentary was intended to be used to promote its more graphic (in full bloody color) counterpart on local San Diego television channels.
The film ended up being the direct opposite as far as DBFTD is concerned; there is no gore and no zombies actually seen here, but the spooky atmosphere is pretty nice, something DBFTD lacks. I like it.
This was shot on Tri-X reversal film, however the footage was never professionally telecined. It was run through a rigged mirror box, so the whites can be a bit hot and the blacks not quite as sharp as they should be.
Yeah. Yeah, I agree. He does have a sexy voice.
