This is a summary of how the digital signal and the analog signals are different and how they take up different parts of the broadcast spectrum. This is the technical reason that you'll need different types of antennae to get stations in the same area. Channels 2-6 need a different antenna than channels 7-13 or 21-69. Bill Hayes and Gary Sgrignoli explain.
