They are trying to claim that THEY'RE trying to preserve the separation of church and state by trying to make sure the government caters only to a select set of religious views? What kind of fantasy world do they live in?

Let me get this straight...
You're proposing to not only limit rights, but STEAL them away from people who you have no legitimate beef with.
You're also attacking the freedom of religion for churches that perform same-sex marriage.
You're assaulting the separation of church and state.
You're using complete lies to make the gay rights camp sound more controlling than they are, when they simply want the government to uphold the law.
You're the one threatening freedom.

So, by using the Bible, we're going to ban gay marriage to 'protect' marriage.
When do we start working to reverse the laws allowing divorce and interracial marriage? The Bible says those are wrong too, you know...
Although I intend to marry a man, I still want the right to marry a woman.
REPEAL 1 IN MAINE!
REPEAL 2 IN FLORIDA!
REPEAL 8 IN CALIFORNIA!

Why single out the Catholic Church and Mormons? It's pretty much all Christian denominations, more likely Protestants since it's the US.

"homo-fascism"
Hahahahaha.
Those shock troopers would have the most fashionable uniforms ever.

I hope Maine people wake up to the militant gay agenda. Distortion of the gift of sex should not be FORCED onto people.
Anyway, anal sex is really bad - it's unhealthy, 100% infertile and spreads AIDS more readily. True marriage just reflects biological reality - all this stuff about 'equality' is a smokescreen.
YES on 1 for Maine.

What really threatens freedom is this anti-gay religious nonsense. Funded by the Catholic Church and the Mormons, who get tax breaks.

Shut up shut up shut up. Deal with it.

Ahhh Religion. You see what happens when you allow it to get just one toe in the door of public policy. Personal freedoms start disappearing. Intolerance, bigotry and even hatred all raise their ugly, pointed little heads. All in GOD'S name, no less. What part of "The separation of church and state" is so hard to understand? If the church insists on trying to dictate public policy and change laws to force it's agenda, it should certainly start paying taxes. WHY are they even tax exempt anyway?

Once again if you are open for public services you must not discriminate who is able to use those services. If the Dr. had refused to inseminate a black woman with white sperm...its discrimination. Just like if a woman wants to be inseminated by a sperm donor the Dr. does not get to discriminate because she is open to the public. How is that different than a restaurant not serving black people? or a whites only country club? Discrimination is Discrimination! Thats the slippery slope!
Gay marriage does not persecute religion. Churches are still free to marry whom they choose, and they are still free not to have ceremonies for gays. What churches cannot do, is tell me I cannot have every right that straight people enjoy. If I want to get married as a gay man, it is none of the churche's business. They should stay out of it. I don't want govenment telling them what they can and cannot do, but I won't let the church take my rights away because of their religion.

That's ridiculous. No law in the US can undo the first Amendment. And also there has not been one case of a church being sued by gay or lesbian couples in Massachusetts in five years of same sex marriag here.
