I think he is using a 12-string guitar from the sound of it. That's probably why you aren't quite getting that texture.

@somberlight no, i mean the key is contains some note that make a unique sound (like at 3:18). maybe like augmented key or something?

I was stunned when I first heard Build That Wall in the game, I literally stopped playing and listened her singing and Setting Sail, Coming Home will always be one of my favorite songs of all time.
Supergiantgames showed that indie companies can do MUCH better soundtracks than big companies, I cannot wait to play another game of theirs(With Darren and Ashley in it I hope)
