"The instrumental version of Falling must have seemed like an atypical choice for the main titles of a prime-time television show back in 1990. However, it is certainly difficult to fathom Twin Peaks without it today. This is a particularly strong testament to how connected this unique combination of chords and melody are to the show's essence. This alternate version of the Twin Peaks Theme highlights the elegant simplicity of the composition, choosing to spotlight only a handful of elements from the original arrangement. Save for the opening string pad, the first half of the track is simply Electric Piano and Baritone Guitar. The pair together are so evocative that it is easy to forget the additional instrumentation that decorates the original version."
