Westrex 5000 Projector At Home

We take a look at one of the last remaining complete British Built 35/70mm Cinema Projector the Westrex 5000 projector.

These were designed in the late 1960's and only a handfull of 70mm versions were ever installed in the UK .
This is one example of one complete Westrex 5000 Projector and shows the screening of 35mm 4 track Mag and 70mm in a Home Cinema based in the West Midlands in the UK.

At this Cinema they have a Orcon 1kw Xenon Lamphouse and a Dolby CP100 Processor for the sound and about 500w Sound system.

(Sadly due to low lighting conditions some scenes did not record well for this film)

I recognized the movie that is showing in the video at time 1:18. It's "Abba The Movie" directed by Lasse Hallström (1977). One of my favourite music movies! Existing 35 mm film prints of this movie must be very rare.

I've never seen a mag soundhead without casing. Do you get much interference on mag tracks?
