15 Jan 2011. FCs first visit to Cannon Park also sees FC goalkeeper Sam Ashton open the scoring from 107 yards. Jerome Wright doubles that in under half an hour and Matthew Wolfenden and Jake Cottrell round out a good all round performance by FC United.

  • I am from Grimsby and I really want to see fc united and sing with the fans they are AMAZING

  • @theamexclan Come to watch us against North Ferriby, we're there on the 14th of Jan. Better yet take in a home game at Gigg Lane.

  • wow; see sam is still at the club then!!! surprised hes not made the leap to full time yet? hardly recognise any of the others though...stopped going when it got too political

  • @Deejay20vt The only politics at the club are the ones you create yourself. It's still the same club that started six years ago.

  • Why 700,000 views.. :|

  • @BassJunkeyz Because it isn't something done every day!

  • I dont care what any of you haters say,FC United have the best fans in the world, they have great team spirit and they are just amazing, im the biggest FC Fan ever, I just love them to bits, its a club that was formed in 2005 by fans and look where they are now :) they have made excellent progress, Respect to all the staff and players and fans :) Keep it up Karl Marginson your doing a great job :')

  • @karlsheldon sounds like we agree that there is a problem then...we're just disagreeing on the extent???

  • @Deejay20vt I kinda understand why one or two people have that opinion but it's really only a few people on the forum. I've spoke to many people (who don't go on the FC forum) who didn't even have the slighest clue that any FC fans has ever been involved with left-wing political stuff. I see why some people would think it but if you've never been on the forum you'd have no idea. It's just a few fans rather than the official club.

  • @Deejay20vt That pitch only looks about 50 yards long?

  • the gneral manger is my uncle

  • Better than torres.

  • @BassJunkeyz and because this is a small club with passionate fans, a break off from Manchester United...gotta love both teams <3

  • @Deejay20vt As Neil says, it is the same club. To me any club formed as a protest is going to be at least somewhat inherently political.

Specifically, FC United could never have not been in some way a protest against capitalism's influence on football in general; seeing as we stopped attending Old Trafford because a business man took our club away from us.

Still, I don't actually see the OVERLY political side, just a club with fan-based ethics.
