@TheCelticmaori What you are doing is using our society as a point of comparison. It is stupid to do so.

For someone that doesn't want to live in our society, it may not be a billion times better at all. It may be far worse. If you were a greenie, for example, you might think traditional Maori society or indigenous Plains American society is a billion times better. What you consider better depends on what you value.

@Silverhazed It's like something I heard, "We live in a technologically advanced society. Many people in the West confuse technology with civilisation."

We all make the mistake of assuming our society is morally correct. We compare others with our culture and society, and anything which is different can be seen as others' being inferior, inefficient, etc.

We all need to realise, while our own society can be improved, we cannot assume it is automatically good and we must stop dictating to others.

@Staatsmacht12 Just like in Libya, the rebels were really fighting on behalf of Western nations. That isn't civilised. The Belgian king wasn't civilised when he forced Zaire into slavery, and the Europeans who support the tin ore slave trade in the Congo aren't civilised either.

People can be civilised, but living in the West doesn't necessarily make you so.

It's a war drum calling , it's tempting for those who are led by emotion and ecspecially tempting for the kids. We all crave status and power as kid , adult's teach us that it's not everything.
