44 Wheeler Accident in Fanwood/Scotch Plains, NJ 6.16.09

While a truck was attempting to make a right turn coming down the bridge, its 240,000 pound cargo tips over. It was carrying a diesel turbine. The accident occurred at around 11 a.m. on June 16, 2009.

@MrCmhicks thats what im saying i know theres a king pin lol I pulled a 8 axle setup fontaine trailer with stinger and neck extension i had 2 king pin settings im simply stating that where the trailer came unhooked at had no pin holding it together yes theres a little pin there but thats only to hold the neck up when unhooked from the truck it would snap like a stick in a situation like this

@nchayfarmer lowboy's do have several pins in them. Iv hauled a lot of heavy loads using a lot of different types of low boys all over the world. there is the King pin that holds the goose neck to the truck, then there is the stabilizer pin that holds the goose neck to the trailer. Now your right once the rig is attached to the truck and the load is there the stabilizer pin holds no true use. It uses the pivot pins and force to hold it all together.

@bluemule216 lowboys do not have pins to attach them at the neck the sheer force holds them together the only pin that is in the neck is to hold the neck on the trailer when released from the truck

Oh I know where that is. It's right over the bridge from Quik Chek and the TD bank that used to Commerce But I forget the street name on that side of the bridge. Thats where my friends and I hang out sometimes.
