Just so's yer aware, this little bout was more about torque than horsepower. It's a pulling contest, remember. And the GM 5.7 in 96 put out 336 lb/ft of that. Which is quite a bit for a gas motor. And yeah a ford could have done it. If it were hooked up to a gas station. Fords back in the day sucked up so much gas it wasn't even funny. Well, funny for the guys watching their fill ups every week.
