PLEASE READ! Ziggy wasn't listening today. Actually, most of the horses were not because of a rapid weather change. Reese was even bucking for no reason. But, Ziggy was the worse.

At first, the lesson went well, until Ziggy started cutting corners, and trying to get ahead of other horses.

Then, he charged at Chief, but Sara was able to halt him and correct him.

Next, he charged right slam INTO Buster, nearly throwing her off. This was very dangerous for Sara, Ziggy, Buster, and his rider. (See The Video Called 'Naughty Pony Charges Other Pony, Sara Nearly Falls! (FUNNY!!!)'

So, Kasey decided that everyone would go into the middle while Sara was working Ziggy.

When Sara asked for canter, Ziggy start trotting and wouldn't stop. Then he started circling when Kasey asked for a halt to correct him. he wouldn't stop.

Sara brought him to a halt finally in the center, and smacked him with her whip.

Why?

Because she is a horrible abusive rider!

WRONG! She isn't! She is a GREAT rider! Sometimes harsh, but when she needs to be. Yes, she pulled at Ziggy's mouth and Whipped him a few times, but if she didn't correct him, it would be even more dangerous for not only Sara and Ziggy, but for the other horses and riders in the arena. She COULD NOT let him get away with it.

When she asked for canter again, he continued circling and start trotting, going out of control. Sara was about to emergency dismount, but Kasey told her not to cause she saw it coming.

Sara then tried to halt Ziggy with verbal commands and by tugging at the reins to stop him. This isn't a cruel method, this was a last resort. Sara finally got control over Ziggy after 10-15 minutes. Ziggy wasn't hurt, and neither was Sara. (But she came close to falling off!) Sara kept riding (Even though she told Kasey she didn't feel safe and wanted to dismount!) and they finished the jumping lesson with only their mood ruined. (And Sara's hand, where multiple blisters emerged from trying to halt Ziggy.

Anyways, I hope you learn a lot from this video!

  • I know in the description, you said she was pulling on his mouth and using the crop on him to teach him a lesson. Let me get one thing straight. The bit should NEVER ever be used as punishment or to "teach the horse a lesson". The horse has an incredibly tender and sensitive mouth. The bit should really be used to turn or stop GENTLY. I don't agree with using the crop as punishment. The only time I ever use one is when my horse is going slow and not responding to my leg and even then, it's a l

  • @TheRosewithoutathorn I AGREE!!! As you can see, this is my friend, and she is a much better rider here, she had only been riding for about 5 months at this point

  • k don't leen forward when u ask to canter or do anything when u ask a horse to do something u ask the but then the front just follows k

  • This was a VERY interesting video. Here's what I see: Ziggy the pony walks on water. A very willing, lovely pony who was, in fact, listening as best he could. Rider was giving inconsistent and conflicting signals, including but not limited to kicking and pulling at the same time, unequal rein pressure, unequal leg pressure, displaying temper, and smacking the pony for no apparent reason. When confused, the pony broke to a trot. Pony has more patience with rider than I would have!

  • The only time I use a crop as punishment is when my horse refuses a jump and I wasn't at fault

  • She doesn't seem very comfortable on him. That combined with the fact she was so harsh in his mouth and using a crop as a punishment she probably shouldn't be riding this horse. She's probably going to make him hard in the mouth, if he isn't already. Using a crop as a form of punishment is never acceptable. They are an aid, or an extension of your arm not something to beat your damn horse with.

  • What an honest pony.

  • @11mscanter Guys keep in mind this sint me and yes she was a horrible rider then but she isnt now she knows better!

  • @pvkris you are so right this is terrible the rider should know that horses have very sensitive mouths and you only use the bit to stop or turn your horse. it was very stupid that she was going to emergency dismount because it was not necasary.

  • @pvkris some people indeed don't understand :(

  • @pvkris

I agree 100%. The pony shouldn't be blamed for poor riding

  • Shorter reins and a better position would be a good idea. He's "not listening" cause you're not telling him clearly. Just constructive critisism btw, not being mean! Nice horse (:

  • Oh my friend rode piggy last week and he started galloping off...
