Both are equally competitive against Obama? Not really. Romney could win the general, but he would be facing a uphill battle. He is not as far right as Perry, but he'd still struggle winning moderates. A Romney win would depend on how bad Obama's political situation got and if Romney was willing to back down on some social issues. However, Perry would be dead in the water from the start of the general. He just doesn't have the support he would need to win the general election.

People tend to not call out false promises and bs campaign rhetoric until after winning an election and allowing some time to fulfill their promises. And most people just get that politicians are a bunch of deceivers like used car salesmen, it's part of the job. If that doesn't convince you just know the media hasn't called out Huntsman on his bs, or anything really, because he's not a top tier contender. This race is Romney vs Perry and both are competitive against Obama.

If Huntsman was a liar he would have been caught by the media by now. He is running on his reccord of job creation in Utah and his diplomatic experience in Asia. You may have resigned yourself to the outcome of the far right anti-science candidate winning the primary (who would then go on to lose to Obama), but I refuse to stand by and let the US political system go down the toilet because of people like you. Go on vote for Perry. There is nothing I can say to reason with you.

The current president as well as all of the Republican candidates are liars (except Ron Paul, see how sometimes honesty isn't everything?). You have no point. Perry will run and he will win. He is the chosen one. Get used to President Perry.

So Perry is a liar and a deceiver then? And just because you happen to be a member of a minority and support Perry doesn't mean that other minories will or even most of the minority you belong to. For example, Herman Cain is a black Republican but most African Americans today still vote Dem. And you say moderates are ignorant? You kiding me? Moderates are the only ones with pragmatism left in the US and even if they weren't moderates are who the GOP needs to win the Whitehouse.

My point is if Perry gets the nomination, then the GOP has lost the general election. Moderates will not support Perry and there are already more registered Democrats than Republicans.Oh by the way, John Kerry and Harry Reid are more left than Obama and Obama is not as far left as Perry is far right. If the goal of the GOP is to have the hardheaded idealist candidate win the primary but does not care about the general after then Perry is their guy. Huntsman can win the general.

You got me there, he may scare off a few people ignorant to politics but then what's your point? Look buddy here is how it is going to go down. We are nominating Perry and either he wins or he doesn't. The point is we aren't listening to liberals (not calling you one) anymore on who we should or shouldn't elect. They certainly didn't come asking us if the farthest to the left Democrat in the senate - Barrack Obama - would scare us off. Tit for tat.
