  • wow....nice gearing, but not very effective is it?

It nearly stops in the transition from the 1st to the 2nd gear

  • right, because the machine doesn't have much momentum, it stops when the wheels are out of torque while changing gear

  • it works fine when you get it up in speed ^^

try making the speed of the 2nd gear to first gear and then you can get a superfast 3rd gear!

  • but if i do it, torque of motors isn't enough, because i tried several combinations of gear ratios

  • I'm not sure how it works, or even it it would work in the real world (like in a real car), but kudos and way to think big.

  • yes, it's too big but i had done second version of this car and it is a bit smaller than this, but i cannot make smaller due to strength

  • try to use lego nxt 2.0, the plc is way better than the old one

  • ehmm actually, it works that way... cant you see the light readin the rotational pallet with white bricks?

  • ive had so much trouble trying to make one of these? how does it work?

  • can u make a a vid of it gearing down, like make it start off on flat ground then make it go up a slope so we can see it gearing down, because taht would be awsome

  • How about making the RCX switch the gear to lower based on the readout of a rotational sensor? In essense, if the vehicle slows down too much, it means it reached a slope or something. Changing gear to lower would make it easier for the motor.

  • that is kind of off subject
